نبذة عن المقرر

This short course is a German-Australian collaboration developed in response to the growing need to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and understanding to recognise, identify and respond to mental health challenges in themselves and others. The course is primarily for university students and those working in the tertiary education and local community sectors.

Ben Milbourn
Ben Milbourn

Dr Ben Milbourn is a respected clinician in occupational therapy practice in Western Australia, researching into vulnerable populations, autism and mental health. Prior to 2012, Dr Milbourn worked as an occupational therapist in a number of clinical roles in the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.

Dr Milbourn has supervised OT honours students and co-supervised PhD students in the field of applied research to Autism Spectrum Disorder, including strengths based approaches for adolescents.

Craig Thompson
Craig Thompson

Since graduating as an Occupational Therapist, Craig has predominantly worked in the area of adult mental health in Western Australia and in the United Kingdom, in both adult inpatient and community mental health settings.

While working in the National Health Service (NHS) in Edinburgh (United Kingdom) he gained experience completing clinical audits and service redesign. He gained further management experience while working as the Acting Occupational Therapy Coordinator at the Alma Street Centre (Fremantle Mental Health Service) prior to moving to Curtin University. Craig also has experience working in general medicine, orthopaedic medicine, orthopaedic rehabilitation, palliative care and vocational rehabilitation.

Sonya Girdler
Sonya Girdler

Professor Girdler is affiliated with the School of Occupational Therapy, Social Work and Speech Pathology at Curtin University and is Director of the Curtin Autism Research Group (CARG).

She has extensive experience in the field of autism research and neurodevelopmental disorders more broadly, and is particularly interested in understanding functioning using the ICF, development and the implementation of strengths-based programs, employment research and evidence-based interventions.

Frank Zimmerman
Frank Zimmerman

Frank Zimmerman ist klinischer Psychologe und Psychotherapeut. Viktor Kacic

Dr. Viktor Kacic ist Facharzt für Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie und -psychotherapie und Chefarzt in der Klinik für Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie und -psychotherapie am Klinikum Aschaffenburg-Alzenau, Deutschland. Er ist staatlich anerkannter Prüfer für Kinder- und Jugendlichenpsychotherapeuten im Bezirk Hessen, Deutschland, und hat eine führende Rolle im Nationalen Suizidpräventionsrat in Deutschland (NaSPro); Arbeitsgruppe Kinder und Jugendliche.
